JOB TITLE: SOCIAL CARE LEADER

Location: CIDP
Contract duration: 6 month fixed term contract (maternity leave cover)

PURPOSE

BELOW ARE THE MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY;

We are currently seeking a Team Leader to cover a period of maternity
leave. The successful candidate will support and manage a team of
support staff in St Joseph?s House and our community service model.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Actively promote and support the Vision of St Joseph?s House
* Assist with leading the Community model ensuring delivery of a
high quality service
* Identify and assist with drafting policies and risk assessments
* Managing, developing and supporting staff, individually and as a
team, including induction, probation, supervisory support and training
in line with HR policies
* Carrying out performance management with staff
* Lead and develop the staff team to deliver a self-directed service
for individuals including problem solving and seeking solutions to
outcomes and barriers raised in the delivery of a quality service
* Ensure each individual has a self-directed support plan
* Develop healthy professional relationships with Service Users
* Planning, developing and managing innovative and creative services
in response to individual?s preferences, incorporating inclusion and
participation in the local community.
* Ensure each support plan is in line with National Standards and is
regularly reviewed to promote autonomy and positive risk taking
* Developing and maintaining effective communication with each
person?s circle of support to ensure they maintain important
relationships
* Support the team to engage in meaningful key-working that is line
with individuals wishes and the new service model
* Ensure all incidents that require notification to relevant
external agencies and the Safeguarding Team are done in the
appropriate timeframe and all actions are in place
* Ensure incident reports are appropriately documented and relevant
information is appropriately shared
* Ability to de-escalate intense situations to achieve positive
outcomes
* Ability to implement new training and review where training is
required
* Regularly review team progress and address appropriately
* Manage the Support Team Roster
* Participate and maintain a zero tolerance culture to abuse
* Work with the Service Transformation Manager to implement change
initiatives
* Have a working knowledge of all relevant legislation and a proven
ability to implement standards and regulations.
* Be enthusiastic, energetic and creative with excellent
organisation and communication skills.
* Excellent personal & interpersonal skills.
* Good IT skills and report writing skills.
* Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and HIQA standards
and a proven ability to implement standards and regulations.
* Have an ability to deal with confidential information in a
discreet and responsible manner.
* Knowledge of Social Role Valorisation and New Directions desirable
* Managing Petty cash in line with CIDP protocols
* Attend training as required
* Have awareness of GDPR

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have one of the below:

* QQI Level 7 in Social Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Social Care
* QQI Level 7 Applied Social Studies ? Social Care
* QQI Level 7 in Training & Education ? Supported Employment ?
Open Training College continuous learning.
* QQI Level 7 in Applied Social Studies (Disability) ? Open
Training College continuous learning.
* Irish Sign Language level 4 or willingness to obtain within one
year through
* Experience in a social care environment

Driving license is desirable
